Post 16

English Language and Maths GCSE Retakes
We provide exceptional support for those students who have just fallen short in achieving a grade 4 in either their English or Maths GCSEs.

One Year GCSE / IGCSE

You may need to resist some GCSEs for a number of reasons. We can offer you resit courses in English Language and Mathematics. GCSEs are offered as an intensive one-year programme beginning in September. This is suitable for students of all ages who may want to resist due to family relocation, illness or personal circumstances.

Our small class sizes ensure that you will have a greater chance of success as we can offer more personalised teaching and additional tutoring. Our experienced teachers will use regular homework and testing to ensure you are on track to pass or increase your grades.  We have a three-phase approach to our teaching. You will be able to watch classes on each topic and review lessons before they are taught in person. Your tutor will help you improve your skills and support you with your advancement onto an A Level course or equivalent qualifications.

Bespoke sessions are provided to students so that they may work towards achieving these qualifications. Please get in touch with us to arrange a call to discuss how we can help.

An understanding and supportive learning environment

My eldest child faced the prospect of being ‘out of education’ until I found this wonderful and understanding environment. Having faced extreme difficulties in main stream education and despite being a very troubled and difficult individual, he attended every day and finished his school journey with the support. He is now a successful and well rounded individual with a successful career ahead of him.
My youngest child, with additional needs and a quite serious health condition, has gone from being approximately 2 years behind his peers, to thriving. This is all thanks to the supportive and nurturing staff and the special nurturing environment that the school runs.
Both my children felt safe and cared about. Their confidence has grown along with their academic ability and understanding of the wider world around them. Thank you for being amazing!

My daughter is happy here

My daughter attends Lords and she is happy and settled here. When she was going through primary school she was behind other children in her class and I was worried she’d be lost and over looked if she went to a mainstream school. Since being at Lords she’s flourished. She’s no longer behind, she enjoys school and has a good relationship with her teachers, this is down to the dedication of the teachers and the smaller class sizes.

A Nurturing Environment for Growth and Learning

Whilst the most recent inspection report may not have fully captured the strengths of the school, my personal experience of Lord’s as a parent has been overwhelmingly positive. The progress my daughter has made, particularly in her literacy, reading confidence and overall enthusiasm for learning, since starting the school in September 2024, speaks volumes about the dedication and effectiveness of the teaching staff. One of the standout features of Lords is it’s smaller class sizes, which foster a close-knit community and allows the children to interact and collaborate well. This personalised approach ensures each child receives the attention they need to thrive both academically and socially. I believe the school provides a nurturing and encouraging environment that truly benefits the students. My daughter is already getting excited for her future and further education, I think Lords is the perfect place to prepare her for these things, and has already made a big, positive impact.

Brilliant school. My child had gone backwards on his educational journey after going into secondary school due to inadequate education and bullying, After joining Lords school, he has not only caught up, but is now excelling in subjects. The school prides itself on the motto ‘each child matter’s’ and that is evident in the way the pupils progress and how they have respect for the teachers as they clearly enjoy learning here, in a tranquil environment. Class sizes are small but this allows teachers to focus more attention on those pupils.

Honestly, this is the best school I’ve ever encountered, and they are very approachable. Top marks from me.
